If I can just touch Him

If I Can Just Touch Him...

She had no name in the story.
No status.
No strength left.

Just a sickness…
and a silent scream for help.

“Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any…”
Luke 8:43, NKJV

Twelve years.
Twelve years of shame.
Twelve years of isolation, rejection, exhaustion, and
pain.

In her culture, she wasn’t just sick—she was considered unclean. No hugs. No worship gatherings. No one to sit beside her at dinner. And every doctor visit ended in disappointment and another bill she couldn’t afford.

But one day, she heard something.

Jesus was passing by.

Not just a healer. The Healer.
Not just a prophet.
The Son of God.
And something awakened in her.

Not sight.
Not strength.
But
faith.

“She came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.”
Luke 8:44, NKJV

She didn’t shout.
She didn’t ask.
She didn’t even speak.

She just reached.

And Jesus stopped.

In the middle of the crowd… when everyone else pressed around Him…
He
stopped for her.

“Who touched Me?”
Luke 8:45, NKJV

The disciples were confused. “Master, the multitudes throng and press You…” (v. 45).
But Jesus wasn’t asking about a bump in the crowd.
He was asking about
a pull of faith.

“Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
Luke 8:46, NKJV

That’s the love of God.

He doesn’t respond to performance.
He responds to
faith.

What Was Her Faith Like?

Her faith wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t polished.
It wasn’t even public.

It was desperate.
Raw. Real. Risky.

“For she said to herself, ‘If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.’”
Matthew 9:21, NKJV

This wasn’t superstition. It wasn’t fantasy.
It was
certainty in the unseen.

Faith isn’t just believing God can
Faith believes He
will—for me.

Is Healing Still Available Today?

Absolutely.
Healing didn’t stop at the cross—
It was
purchased there.

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree… by whose stripes you were healed.”
1 Peter 2:24, NKJV

Healing is part of the finished work of Jesus.

When Jesus sent out His disciples, He didn’t just send them with sermons—He sent them with power:

“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:7–8, NKJV

He never said, “Only do this until I return to heaven.”
No—He said:

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Mark 16:17–18, NKJV

So Why Don’t We See More Healings Today?

Maybe we’ve stopped reaching.

Maybe we’ve traded our desperate faith for comfortable theology.
Maybe we’ve stopped pressing through the crowd.
Maybe we care more about not looking foolish than being made whole.

But friend, the same Jesus that stopped for her will stop for you.

Healing in Today’s World

  • You in your hospital bed? He’s there.

  • You in your depression? He sees.

  • You walking through cancer, chronic pain, trauma? He still heals.

You don’t need perfect prayers.
You don’t need the right words.
You don’t even need a crowd to notice you.

You just need to reach.

“Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
Luke 8:48, NKJV

God’s Promises Are Still Yes and Amen

“Bless the Lord, O my soul…
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases…”
Psalm 103:2–3, NKJV

He doesn’t just save souls—He heals bodies.
He doesn’t just forgive sins—He restores lives.
And the invitation hasn’t changed:
Come touch the hem of His garment.

What Does This Mean for Me Today?

  • If you’re battling illness: Reach. Ask. Believe.

  • If you’ve prayed before and nothing happened: Reach again.

  • If you know someone who needs healing: Be the disciple who lays hands and believes for them.

This generation needs to see the love of God in action—not just in words, but in power.

You don’t have to fight alone.
You don’t have to bleed in silence.
You don’t have to accept the label “incurable.”
Jesus still stops for the one.
He still responds to faith.
And He’s still saying:

“Who touched Me?”

Let that be you.

Reach today.
And watch what happens.
